Comparison
MerchMaker vs Merch.ai
You have probably landed here looking for a side-by-side table. We are not going to make one up about another company's product. What follows is our scope stated plainly, and the questions that would actually separate the two.
- What this page claims about them
- Nothing. We have not run their product
- What it claims about us
- Only what is shipping today, and named as such
- How to use it
- Put the same questions to both and compare the answers
Ground rules
A comparison written by one side is evidence of one side
Vendor comparison pages are written by the vendor, including this one. The usual version invents a grid where the author has every tick and the competitor has gaps, which tells you about the author's marketing and nothing about the software. So this page states our scope and hands you the questions instead.
- We have not evaluated Merch.ai, so we describe no feature of it
- Everything below about MerchMaker is shipping, not planned
- Ask the same list of both and keep the answers side by side
Our scope
What MerchMaker does today
A catalog built from supplier listings, decorated mockups rendered onto the supplier's own product photography, a published collection with your pricing on it, guest checkout, and an order planned against the listings it came from. Reviews by a person sit between the generated images and the buyer.
- Colorways, sizes, SKUs, imprint locations and minimums from the listing
- Renders on the real product photo, accepted by a reviewer before publishing
- One share link with reactions, comments and guest Stripe checkout in USD
- Order planning against the listings; production and shipping stay yours
Our limits
What MerchMaker does not do
Access is invitation-only, so there is nothing to sign up for. Checkout is United States shipping and US dollars. We do not raise supplier purchase orders, brief decorators or ship goods, and the buyer-facing page is a published collection rather than a standing company store.
- Invitation-only; a demo is how access starts
- US dollars and US shipping addresses only
- No supplier purchase orders, decorator work orders or shipping from us
The questions
Five questions worth asking either vendor
These are the ones where promotional product software tends to differ in ways that matter after the third month, rather than in the demo. Ask them of us too.
- Is the mockup on the supplier's own photo, or on a generic template?
- Where does the minimum quantity come from, and what happens if a cart is under it?
- Can a buyer pay without creating an account, and in what currency?
- What does a human approve before a client sees a generated image?
Questions
Why will you not compare features directly?
Because we have not used their product, and a table built from a competitor's website is a description of their marketing copy, not of their software. We would rather be useful than confident.
What should I actually do with this page?
Take the five questions to both vendors, in writing, and compare the answers. The differences that show up there are the ones you will live with.
Can I see MerchMaker before deciding?
Yes, and given it is invitation-only that is the only way in. A demo covers your catalog and your decoration methods rather than a canned dataset.
See the logo on the product first.
MerchMaker is invitation-only while we onboard distributors one at a time. Book a demo and we will set up your catalog with you.
