Comparison
MerchMaker vs MerchPilot
We have not run MerchPilot, so this page does not describe it. It describes what MerchMaker does and does not do, and gives you the checks that separate distributor software once the demo is over.
- What this page claims about them
- Nothing. We have not run their product
- What it claims about us
- Only what is shipping today, and named as such
- How to use it
- Run the same checks against both, then decide
Ground rules
The same rule as our other comparison page
If we described MerchPilot from their website we would be quoting their marketing back at you and calling it research. So: our scope, our limits, and a short list of checks that are cheap to run and hard to answer vaguely.
- No feature of MerchPilot is asserted anywhere on this page
- Everything stated about MerchMaker is shipping, not roadmap
- Run the checks below against both and compare what you get
Our scope
What MerchMaker does today
Products come from supplier listings with their own colorways, sizes, SKUs, imprint locations and minimums. Mockups are rendered onto the supplier's photograph of that product and reviewed by a person. A published collection is one link with your pricing, buyer reactions and comments, and guest card checkout.
- Real listing data, including the supplier's minimum quantity
- Decorated renders from the real product photo, approved before publishing
- One share link; the buyer needs no account to react, comment or pay
- Orders planned against the listings the collection was built from
Our limits
What MerchMaker does not do
There is no self-serve access: MerchMaker is invitation-only while we onboard distributors individually. Checkout is US dollars and United States shipping. Supplier purchase orders, decorator briefs and shipping are yours, and we would rather say so here than in month two.
- Invitation-only, so a demo is the only way in
- US dollars and US shipping addresses only
- We do not buy from suppliers, decorate, or ship on your behalf
The checks
Four checks that are hard to answer vaguely
Ask for each of these as a demonstration rather than as an answer. A vendor that can show them in ten minutes is telling the truth about them.
- Show me a mockup on one of my own supplier's product photos
- Put a quantity below the supplier minimum in a cart and show me what happens
- Send me the buyer link and let me buy something without an account
- Show me what a person approves before a client sees a generated image
Questions
Is this page neutral?
It is honest rather than neutral. We wrote it, we sell one of the two products, and we have said so. What we have not done is describe software we have not used.
Why publish a comparison page at all then?
Because people search for the comparison, and the alternative to a page like this is an invented grid on someone else's site. A scope statement plus a checklist is the useful version.
How do I see MerchMaker?
Book a demo. Because access is invitation-only, the demo doubles as the start of onboarding your catalog.
See the logo on the product first.
MerchMaker is invitation-only while we onboard distributors one at a time. Book a demo and we will set up your catalog with you.
