Distributor solution

The logo on the real product, not on a blank template

MerchMaker decorates the supplier's photograph of the product you picked, in an imprint location that listing supports. Someone reviews the result before it can go in a collection.

The placement

Before a buyer sees it
Every render is accepted or rejected by a reviewer

Why the real photo

A generic template hides the thing the client is deciding

A logo floated onto a flat mockup tells you nothing about how it sits on a curved bottle, a textured fleece or a dark polo. Decorating the actual product photograph means the client is looking at the product they would receive, with their mark on it, at the size the imprint area allows.

  • Rendered per colorway, so a dark garment is judged as a dark garment
  • The imprint area is the one the supplier listing publishes
  • Curved and textured surfaces look like what they are

Where the placement comes from

Imprint locations are reviewed once, then reused

A product's decoration areas are worked out against its own photography and then reviewed by a person, who can adjust the region before approving it. Once a location is approved, every later render for that product uses it, so the same product does not drift from one collection to the next.

  • Proposed regions are edited and approved by a reviewer
  • An approved location is reused for that product from then on
  • An unapproved location cannot silently become the one that ships

The review step

The model proposes, a person decides

Generated images go to a review queue. A reviewer accepts the ones that are right and rejects the ones that are not, with a reason. Nothing skips that: a render that has not been accepted cannot appear in a published collection.

  • Accept, reject with a reason, or send it back for another attempt
  • Only accepted renders can be published to a buyer
  • The reason is recorded, so a bad batch is diagnosable

Artwork

What happens to the client's files

You upload the client's artwork so MerchMaker can put it on their products. That is what it is used for. We do not need it for anything else and we do not sell it on.

  • Artwork is used to produce your mockups
  • The client keeps their rights to their own marks
  • Nothing about it is shared with other distributors

Questions

Is the mockup good enough to show a client?

That is precisely what the review step decides. A person accepts each render before it can be published, so what a client sees is what a reviewer signed off, not whatever came out first.

Can I adjust where the logo goes?

Yes. Imprint regions are editable and are approved by a person before they are used, and the approved one is what later renders follow.

Does this replace a proper pre-production proof?

No. It is a sales mockup for deciding on a product, not a press-ready proof from the decorator.
